My Science Experiment: The Baking Soda Volcano 나의 과학 실험: 베이킹소다 화산

Introduction 소개

 

Science experiments help us learn about the world in a fun way. For my experiment, I decided to make a baking soda volcano. I wanted to see how a chemical reaction could create a bubbling eruption, just like a real volcano.

 

과학 실험은 세상을 재미있게 배우는 좋은 방법입니다. 나는 베이킹소다 화산 실험을 하기로 결정했습니다. 화학반응이 어떻게 거품이 넘치는 분출을 만들어내는지 확인하고 싶었습니다.

Materials and Method 준비물과 방법

 

To do this experiment, I needed:

• Baking soda
• Vinegar
• Dish soap
• Red food coloring
• A small plastic bottle
• A tray

I placed the plastic bottle in the middle of the tray. First, I added a few spoonfuls of baking soda into the bottle. Then, in a separate cup, I mixed vinegar with red food coloring and a little bit of dish soap. When I poured the vinegar mixture into the bottle, the reaction started immediately! Bubbles and foam came out of the bottle, looking like lava from a real volcano.

나는 플라스틱 병을 쟁반 중앙에 놓았습니다. 먼저, 베이킹소다를 몇 스푼 병 안에 넣었습니다. 그다음, 식초에 빨간색 식용 색소와 약간의 주방 세제를 섞어 컵에 준비했습니다. 그리고 이 혼합물을 병에 부었을 때, 반응이 즉시 시작되었습니다! 거품과 거품이 병 밖으로 넘쳐 마치 진짜 화산의 용암처럼 보였습니다.

Results 결과

 

The experiment was a success! As soon as I poured the vinegar into the bottle, the mixture bubbled up and spilled over. The red food coloring made it look even more like lava. The reaction happened because vinegar, which is an acid, mixed with baking soda, which is a base. Together, they created carbon dioxide gas, which caused the foamy eruption.

 

실험은 성공적이었습니다! 식초를 병에 부은 순간, 혼합물이 거품을 내며 넘쳐 흘렀습니다. 빨간색 식용 색소 덕분에 용암처럼 보였습니다. 이 반응이 일어난 이유는 식초(산)와 베이킹소다(염기)가 만나면서 이산화탄소 가스를 생성했기 때문입니다. 이 가스가 거품을 만들어 분출 현상을 일으킨 것입니다.

Conclusion 결론

 

Through this experiment, I learned how chemical reactions can produce gas and cause an eruption. I also realized that science can be fun and exciting! This experiment helped me understand how real volcanoes work. In the future, I would love to try more science experiments and discover new things.
